Cher gained popularity in the 1960’s as half of the husband-wife duo Sonny & Cher after their song “I Got You Babe” became a number one hit. The couple soon became a household name with their own television spot. At the same time, Cher began her solo career and emerged as a style icon for her elaborate outfits that sparkled on the television screen. She has become known as the “Goddess of Pop” and beloved for being unwaveringly feminine in a male-dominated industry. She has recreated her sound numerous times in her six decade long career from folk-rock, to pop, to disco, and rock as well as conquering the silver screen winning her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

This piece evokes her start in the duo, Sonny and Cher, with a play on the yellow sunshine color and ray-like design.. The piece also uses colorful rhinestones to evoke the inspiration of her longtime stylist, Bob Mackie, who helped create her signature style. Time Magazine wrote that Cher “is a cultural phenomenon who has forever changed the way we see celebrity fashion.”

This 8”x8” piece that replicates a piece of my original paintings is a high quality art print cut to size on acid-free paper and is perfect for finding standard-sized frames at Target, Home Goods, Michael’s, or anywhere else! It is shipped to you on a stiff mat board and in acid-free packaging to ensure longevity of the piece and that it arrives safely to you!
