Off with her head!

Marie Antoinette was the last queen of France before the French Revolution of 1793. She ascended to the throne in 1774 with King Louis XVI and was known for her youth, beauty, and style. As the country was spiraling in a fit of class disparity, Marie became increasingly unpopular amongst the people, who accused her of being frivolous and promiscuous leading to her demise. Her trial proceeded swiftly, and she was charged with depletion of the national treasury as well as marks of treason and guillotined for her crimes.

This sassy portrait of the former queen shows her posing with her tall powdered wig with a pearl design and necklace with red rococo style designs. The background mirrors the top of a cake with beaded pearls for decoration.
